You helped shine a light on what North Dakotans really think

Hello,
Summer has flown by, and it’s been a busy season for us at the North Dakota News Cooperative. From in-depth polling to fact-checking timely issues, your support has helped us bring important information to communities across the state.
You helped shine a light on what North Dakotans really think
Thanks to your support, we released our latest statewide poll in August that gave a voice to citizens across the state. You made it possible for us to ask questions that matter and to report the results with context and clarity.
We worked with Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy to take the pulse of North Dakotans on issues that matter most to them. The poll asked voters about state finances, trade and tariffs, and how they view their elected officials. By surveying a broad sample of North Dakotans, the poll gave us insight into what people are thinking and how those opinions may shape the future of our state.
Your support made it possible to ask these questions and share the answers in a clear, nonpartisan way, helping ensure North Dakotans have trusted information to guide their decisions.
You supported transparency
To show how the poll came together, we released a special episode of The Backstory podcast. In it, we explained how we crafted the questions, selected the polling firm, and ensured balanced reporting. We also talked about the tough decisions, including what we chose not to ask, and why.
This kind of transparency builds trust, and your donations make it possible.
You helped fact-check hot topics
Throughout August, we continued our commitment to truth and accuracy. We investigated whether any of North Dakota’s congressional delegation have held in-person town halls since the pandemic, clarified the facts behind our lawmakers and the Epstein files, and explained why speed cameras aren’t allowed in North Dakota.
Your support means North Dakotans get fact-based, nonpartisan answers.
You helped us spotlight local news champions
In another episode of The Backstory, we introduced listeners to a new newspaper publisher working to keep local journalism alive in rural North Dakota. It’s a reminder that even as challenges mount, people across the state are stepping up to do the work. Just like you are.
You make this all possible
Your donation ensures that we can keep doing this work, asking hard questions, checking the facts, and bringing local news to the forefront. Thank you for standing with us.
Please consider a recurring monthly gift to help sustain this work year-round.
With gratitude,
