April was a busy month at the North Dakota News Cooperative, and it's all thanks to your support.

It brought our latest North Dakota Poll and a series of stories explaining the results. We partner with Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy to conduct the survey and provide the data. This month’s poll looked at how national issues are shaping opinions here at home, including presidential approval, the war in Iran, gas prices, and immigration. It found North Dakotans are split on the war in Iran, but more unified when it comes to ICE. Our reporting takes those results a step further, providing context, local impact, and deeper analysis to help North Dakotans dive into what these trends mean for their communities.

We also updated the North Dakota Poll webpage to better explain how the poll is conducted. This includes clearer information about methodology, how results are used, and how the poll operates today. These updates are part of our ongoing effort to be transparent about our work and help readers better understand where this information comes from.

The Backstory continues to expand its reach. We are thrilled to now be airing on the state’s biggest radio station, KFGO 790 AM, 94.1 FM, and 104.7 FM in the Fargo market. The Backstory also continues to air on Radio Access 102.5 FM in Bismarck. This allows more North Dakotans to hear directly from our reporting and go deeper into the issues shaping communities across the state.

Behind the scenes, we are transitioning to Givebutter as our new donation platform. Monthly donors will receive an email with more details, and once the transition is complete, receipts will come from Givebutter instead of Stripe. This change will give donors better access to manage their memberships, and it will reduce transaction fees so that more of every dollar goes directly toward supporting our journalism.

We are deeply grateful for your support. As an independent nonprofit newsroom, we are not part of a national organization. That means we are North Dakota-based and locally led, and your support stays here, funding reporting that serves your community. And we're very thankful for it.

With gratitude,

Sabrina Halvorson
